The story behind the data

This page exists to make members’ board games more visible to each other. Many of us have games in boxes at home that never make it to the table — and little gems no one else knows about. Those are the ones we try to bring into the light.

A shared window into members’ games

Here you can see which games the members of Copenhagen Board Game Club own, what they have rated, and what they have written about them — to the extent each member has chosen to show. The games belong to the members individually; this page is just the window that makes them visible to each other. The more we share, the better we get to know both what exists in the club and each other.

You are not required to play everything in your own collection. This is not about promising anything — it is about showing the possibilities.

You do not need to log in to browse. Login is only used when you want to create a profile or adjust your settings.

You decide how much you show

This is built as privacy by design. You choose your own level of engagement:

  • Want to show your collection? Or keep it to yourself?
  • Want to share your ratings? Or keep them private?
  • Want to share your comments? Or just read others’?
  • Want to be on the trade list? Or just browse?

You can always turn it up, turn it down, or delete your data entirely. You take part as much as you like — and you can always pull out.

Automatic and honest

We do three things — and only three things:

  1. We fetch data from your profile on BoardGameGeek (BGG) — not from anywhere else.
  2. We only show what your BGG profile already shows publicly — we have no access to anything private.
  3. We update it automatically — you do not have to maintain anything here.

We do not guess. We do not make up data. We do not change it. We only mirror what BGG already has — and only what you have chosen to show.

A thank you to BoardGameGeek

This whole site stands on the shoulders of BGG. It is their data we mirror, their catalogue we point into, and their community we are a small part of. We use BGG’s public data with respect.

For those just browsing

You are welcome to read along. The page is first and foremost a tool for the club’s members, but nothing here is secret — it is the same you can find on BGG, just gathered for one club.
